TiE Handles 2,200 Registrants in Less Than 40 Minutes at Popular Annual Meeting

MILPITAS, Calif., May 16, 2000 123Signup™, the Web solution for Member Relationship Management, today announced that the Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) successfully used 123Signup's system for the smooth operation of the annual TiE conference. TiE was able to handle the on-site registration process efficiently, with minimal waiting for the 2,200 attendees on opening day. Accurate reports and badges facilitated the on-site registration process.
TiECON is the annual conference that TiE conducts. TiECON 2000 was held on May 7 and 8 and was a significant event with over 2,200 attendees. TiE organizers used the 123Signup service for many functions critical to the smooth operation of the event:
- Web-based member enrollment with instant database updates
- Online collection of conference registration fees
- Accurate, preprinted badges for attendees
- Complete lists to facilitate onsite registration
- Detailed financial reports to track event revenues by revenue category
Bakul Joshi, executive director of TiE, said, "Registration for our conference went very smoothly using 123Signup's online registration system. In fact, we've seen our attendance improve with the simplicity of the one-click registration process. The 123Signup service helped us to register attendees efficiently and quickly. We were able to reduce significantly the burden on our staff and were able to virtually eliminate revenue losses caused by errors in credit card processing and handling of fee payments."
"We're delighted that TiE was able to take advantage of the inherent sophistication of our Web-based event registration system," said Madhav Patwardhan, vice president of marketing and business development at 123Signup. "Our system enables online registration even for events that involve many pricing variations - based on membership category, early registration discounts, separate fees for guests and fees for additional events such as dinners. Our system tracks all these revenue components independently and vastly simplifies revenue tracking."
TiE was able to continuously monitor the number of people registering for the event, and registrations were closed when the capacity limit was reached, avoiding the confusions and frustrations of over-booking. On opening day, TiE was able to print badges on the spot, as needed.
